Forklift Training course

Europa is dedicated to supporting the continuous development and training of our employees. Andreea Cristovici and Corina Herciu participated in a 3-day Forklift Training course. Read comments from the employees below: 

Corina Herciu: “Not being a car driver, I was so nervous when asked by Europa if I would like to undertake this training; but was also very pleased that the company recognized my strengths and wanted to further invest in me and my career in the business. I received some really good support from my manager and our in-house trainer who helped me overcome the fear and committed to going through the training course. Europa was clear that if I was not successful in passing the forklift truck 3-day test, this would not affect my current team leader position, which I enjoy. Day one of the training arrived and although anxious, I remembered the support and encouraging words from my colleagues and peers. For me, after the first hour of day one the thought of ‘it’s not that bad at all’ came to mind.

The key to this training was to support Europa with outbound shipments that need to be loaded onto a variety of carrier trucks that arrive each day and onward ship orders to our customers. 

Our trainer ‘Harry’ was very patient throughout the entire 3 days and explained the process well emphasizing that safety is paramount for me and my colleagues when using the forklift truck. We also as part of training needed to watch some ‘scary’ real-life videos and write down our observations regarding the dangers. We then had a final test, and I was pleased to hear that I passed, YAY! 

I am looking forward to utilizing my new skill and thank Europa for believing in and encouraging me to break down my fears.”

Andreea Cristovici: “Unlike Corina, I am a car driver and between you and me I, had more confidence and no hesitation when Europa asked if I would like to complete a forklift driving test over 3 days. I work under Corina’s direction and again to best serve our customers this is an essential skill that not only benefits Europa but me personally. I really enjoyed the 3 days of training and as in the photos, I especially liked the chicane arrangement that Harry set up and enjoyed carefully maneuvering around this.

Our trainer, Harry, was very clear with his instructions and was able to guide me through the course. I was so pleased when Harry told me that I had successfully passed the test and I can’t wait to be able to put my newfound qualification to practice at Europa. Thank you, Europa, for believing in and investing in me.”
