What is an MCCB & CBR?

MCCB stands for 'Moulded Case Circuit Breaker' they are the bigger brothers of MCB's and offer both overload and short circuit protection in addition to circuit isolation. They are available in single, 3 and 4 pole variants, ranging from 16A to 3200A. They can be installed individually or as part of a panel board system. CBR's are MCCB's that also incorporate residual current protection, they can also be thought of as big brothers but to RCBO's. They are available in ranges up to 250A. To protect circuits with higher amperages MCCB's can be used in conjunction with current transformer coils and monitoring relays.

Our Range

Europa's highly successful enclosed Safe Switch range has now been further strengthened by the addition of the equally reliable and proven Terasaki range of MCCBs and CBRs (MCCB + RCD). Terasaki protection devices are supplied in IP4X robust metal enclosures with a light grey (RAL 7035) epoxy coated finish and designed for ease of installation. If required, devices can also be supplied separately for mounting in control or distribution panels. The MCCB and CBR ranges include 4 pole or 3 pole plus neutral link devices. MCCBs come in four ratings 125A, 160A, 250A and 400A, whilst CBRs are rated up to 250A. In addition, a wide range of accessories includes auxiliary and alarm changeover switches, under voltage and shunt trips, extension bars, terminal covers and locks, plus toggle locking devices.
