The Titanic Hotel, Belfast

11th October 2021/ Blog

Background

The Titanic Hotel opened its doors in Belfast on Sunday 10th September 2017, after the transformation of the legendary Harland & Wolff headquarters and spectacular Drawing Offices was completed.  Previously known as the nerve centre of the largest shipyard in the world, Harland & Wolff vacated in 1989 leaving the B+ listed site left unoccupied for almost 30 years.

How Europa got involved?

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Heritage Enterprise programme, Europa was approached to provide a rapid and cost effective solution for 125 consumer units supplied over a 6-month period.

This enquiry was followed up with a sample order and quote provided in August 2016. The first order for 48 consumers units was received on the 25th November.

The consumer unit was supplied fully loaded with the below components furnished in a 14 Way Metal Clad Consumer unit pre loaded with a 100A main switch (MECU14M), put together by our in house technical and production team.

1 x MCB 1 Pole 6kA B 10A  (EUB110B)

3 x MCB 1 Pole 6kA B 16A  (EUB116B)

1 x MCB 1 Pole 6kA B 6A  (EUB16B)

Modular Contactor 4 pole 25A 230V AC Coil (EUC2-25-4P)

Din Rail 1 Mod Blanking Plate (ECUBPD)

RCBO 6kA 10A 30mA 1P B Curve (EUB1R.10/1B)

RCCB 6kA 63A 30mA 2P (EUR163.30/2)

Providing the products in this way saves the time of the contractor and reduces the inventory needed.  Following Europa’s promise of same day dispatch, the pallet order was delivered by the middle of the following week.

Tailing the same process as the initial order, a second order placed in February 2017 and a third in April 2017 were fulfilled.
